Buckley Bombers go 2-2 in Babe Ruth regionals
Six teams from Colorado, Kansas and Missouri competed in Holyoke this past week in the 2023 Midwest Plains regional 16-to-18-year-old Babe Ruth baseball tournament. After a total of 11 games were played throughout July 27-29, Colorado’s Sandlot Sluggers went home with the championship title and a berth to the World Series.
Starting out pool play on Thursday, the team from Salina, Kansas, beat the Grand Mesa, Colorado, team 7-1. The Missouri Aces then beat the GCBC Blues team from Kansas 9-8. The Sandlot Sluggers beat Grand Mesa 11-0, and the local Buckley Bombers beat the Missouri Aces 7-5.
