C boys 1-1 in triangular

In an event added to the Dragon sports schedule, C boys basketball played in a triangular in Ovid Monday, Feb. 6, with Sedgwick County and Garden County, Nebraska. Each game consisted of two 20-minute halves with running clock.

Playing Garden County, Holyoke C won 32-14. The boys trounced Garden County 22-3 in the first half, but eased up in the second half before the 32-14 win.

Caleb Deaver led in scoring with 13, followed by Colby Purkeypile eight, Matt Yost six, Cole LeBlanc three and Mauro Morales two.

Holyoke lost 27-39 to Sedgwick County. The Dragons had a rough start, behind 11-23 at the half. They matched the Cougars in points second half 16-16 but still lost 27-39.

Deaver had the most points with 10, followed by Yost eight, Jarrett Woodhead seven and Purkeypile two.
