Coach Scholl returns to lead Dragons

The Holyoke girls basketball team will have a familiar face back on the bench this year with the return of Arlan Scholl to the Dragons’ sidelines.

Scholl coached the girls’ team for 15 years, beginning in the 2001-2002 season. His tenure included seven trips to the state tournament before he moved on to become an assistant coach for Northeastern Junior College.

Seven players return from last year’s state championship team.

Leading the way will be seniors Elise Krogmeier and Grace Roberts, along with junior Audrey Talavera.

The trio saw action in every game last season, except one Krogmeier missed, en route to the Class 2A State Championship.

Krogmeier is the team’s leading returning scorer and rebounder after averaging 8.6 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game last year.

Junior Hannah Lindholm played in 17 games last season.
