Dragon baseball season ends with a 2-0 loss to Haxtun

    In Colorado 2A high school baseball, post-season action began last weekend with district tournaments. Holyoke hosted the first round of the District 2 tournament Friday, May 11, but day two of the event was relocated to Ovid due to weather.
    When it was all said and done, Sedgwick County won the tournament with a 7-3 win over Wray in the championship game, securing a position in the regional/state bracket.
    
Holyoke 0, Haxtun 2
    Holyoke was knocked out of competition in round one, losing a close game against Haxtun 2-0.
    HHS played as the visiting team in Friday’s game and got the game going with some strong at-bats. Though the Dragons managed to get the bases loaded in the first inning, Haxtun got the third out before anyone could score.
    Holyoke took to the field for the bottom of the inning, with Blake Mosenteen pitching. Haxtun managed one run, and the score remained 1-0 through the second inning.
