Dragons 2-0 in season opener

Dragon baseball players are 2-0 after opening their season in Wray Monday, March 20. The first game ended after six innings with a score of 18-8, and the second was 12-0 after five innings. Full details will be printed in next week’s edition of the Enterprise.
Sixteen students make up the Holyoke High School team, led by returning letterwinners, seniors Brenden Kage, Brendan Mayden, Austin Herman, Tristan Sullivan and Gunnar Kroeger; and sophomore Jesus Trejo.
Other players are sophomores Mauro Morales and Dylan Miles and freshmen Blake Mosenteen, Caleb Deaver, Xander Speicher, Hunter Bergstrom, Victor Baeza, Max Cano, Seth Watson and Slaten Burris.
Coaching staff is again made up of head coach Sam Distefano and assistant coaches John Baumgartner, Marcus Kammer and Brett Gerk.
As the baseball team has only five seniors this year, Distefano said “there will probably be some growing pains having a predominantly younger team, but we will overcome them.”
