Dragons are gridiron ready

After weeks of back-and-forth discussions, HHS will be kicking off its football season with a home game Saturday, Oct. 10, with Highland.

Coach Dusty Sprague said he’s excited for the team to get a chance to play this season.

“Every year I look forward to it,” he said. “The kids know what it takes to compete in our difficult league. I’m super excited to get to play because we weren’t sure we were going to get the opportunity.”

The regular season will consist of three home games and three away games. There are also some changes to the playoffs, as there will be no automatic bids guaranteeing a playoff appearance this year.

Instead, the top eight teams with the highest ratings percentage index will qualify for the playoffs. RPI is a method used to measure a team’s strength relative to other teams.
