Dragons beat Lions 55-0

Dragon football pulled off another shutout for the second win of the season, this time beating Lyons 55-0 in an away game Aug. 31. Despite the long trip there, coach Dusty Sprague said Lyons was a very nice place to play and commended the home team for their hospitality.
Securing a lead early and maintaining it throughout the game meant that everybody got to see some varsity action, and it was a good team win for Holyoke.
Blake Mosenteen scored the first touchdown of the game, a 52-yard run, just a minute and a half in. Before long, Cade Killin recovered a fumble on Holyoke’s 10-yard line, putting the Dragons in position to score again. With 9:18 left in the quarter, Mosenteen passed to Caleb Deaver for a 12-yard touchdown. Seth Watson scored the Dragons’ next touchdown, a 10-yard run, with 4:55 on the clock.
With less than a minute left in the quarter, Miles Sprague made a 20-yard pass to Luis Chafino for Holyoke’s fourth touchdown of the game.
In the second quarter, Michael Ramos made a 1-yard touchdown run with 10:44 on the clock. At 5:21, Mosenteen made another touchdown run from midfield. With six touchdowns and Alexis Vega making five of his six extra point kick attempts, the Dragons finished the first half ahead 41-0.
