Dragons compete in tough Chase County Invitational

Seven Dragon wrestlers competed in what coach Dusty McConnell called a “really tough tournament for us” at the Chase County Invitational in Imperial, Nebraska, on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Moving toward regionals in mid-February, McConnell said the tough competition was good for the team.

He pointed out that Angel Carrasco did a good job of making weight at 138 lbs., where he will wrestle the rest of the season.

Ogallala, Nebraska, won the 18-team tournament with 190 points, followed by Bridgeport, Nebraska, 172, Burlington 135, Alliance, Nebraska, 125.5, Sedgwick County/Fleming 92, Hitchcock County, Nebraska, 83.5, Morrill, Nebraska, 69, Garden County, Nebraska, 68.5, Wray 58 and Perkins County, Nebraska, 53.
