Dragons drop regional game

Holyoke’s softball season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 1-11 loss to Eaton in Class 3A Region 3 play on the Reds’ home field.

The Dragons were first to get on the board, scoring in the top half of the first inning for their only run of the game.

Destanie Engle led off the game and singled, stole second then advanced to third on a pass ball.

Aliyah Engle followed with a walk and rounded first to head to second. As the pitcher looked to third D. Engle stepped off third base and was picked off.

Samantha Seger doubled to drive A. Engle home.

Seger and Hannah Lindholm were on the corners after a Lindholm walk, when a deep fly out to right center ended the Dragons’ at bat.
