Holyoke High School varsity volleyball came away with a win and a loss in last week’s tri in Akron with Wiggins on Wednesday, March 31.
The Lady Dragons beat Akron in straight sets and fell to Wiggins in four.
Coach Michelle Vieselmeyer noted that getting the first win of a season is always positive, and the team will continue building on that and keep getting better with each game.
Holyoke 3, Akron 0
HHS defeated Akron in a close first set 25-23, and won the next two by a greater margin at 25-14, 25-14.
Coach Vieselmeyer said the players came together and started finding their groove against Akron.
“They started playing more as a team,” she said.
