Dragons make playoffs

For the third straight year, the Dragon football team is in the 1A state playoffs which start this weekend.

“I am super proud of these kids,” said coach Dusty Sprague, adding that they’re looking forward to going to Limon and getting to play in the playoffs.

Unlike the last two years, this year’s playoff bracket starts in the quarterfinals with eight teams. In the past, first-round playoffs featured the top 16 teams.

Seeded No. 8, Holyoke High School will take on No. 1 seeded Limon, the returning state champs. The game is slated for Saturday, Nov. 21, starting at 1 p.m. in Limon.

Some restrictions on fan numbers will be in place, but Star 92.3 will be broadcasting the game.

The Badgers boast a 4-0 record, while the Dragons are 5-1, having lost only to Wray.
