Dragons split in Wray softball
HHS softball split a doubleheader in Wray on Sept. 28. Both games came down to two runs, with Wray winning the first and Holyoke coming out on top in the second game.

In the first game of the day, Julia Casady was the lead-off batter, taking a base on balls. Molly Brown hit a double, sending her in for the first run of the game. Brown went on to score on an error. Hailey Mavis hit a triple and scored on an error as well. In the field, the Dragons gave up two runs in the first inning.
Ahead 3-2, Holyoke widened the lead in the second inning. Despite two outs on the board, four consecutive batters scored runs for the visiting Dragons. Julia Casady, who was hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored on a single hit by Sirissa Casady, who then stole second and third. Brown hit a single and scored on another error. Mavis hit a home run that sent Sirissa Casady in as well.
Shianne Willmon hit a double, and Rebecca Owens hit a single and stole second, but both were left on base. Defensively, the Dragons held their ground, and the score stood at 7-2 after two innings.
