Dragons swept by Byers to open baseball season

The Dragon baseball team led off its season in Holyoke on Saturday, March 19, with a doubleheader against Byers. Holyoke lost the first game 15-13 and the second 24-1.

Coach Jimmy French said there were many positive aspects of the games to start the season.

“I loved what I saw from us as a team,” he said. “We got off to a strong start in game one and then fought through some adversity to keep the pressure on for the full seven innings.”

He added that Holyoke’s pitching is still rounding into form, but he expects it to get better each week.

“I saw a lot of positives to build on, and we just need to keep getting more reps in as we look ahead to Haxtun.”
