Dragons travel for big Byers meet

Holyoke tracksters had to rise and shine early Saturday, April 15, leaving Holyoke at 4:30 a.m. for the Terry Amundson Invitational in Byers. The large meet exposed the team to several Denver-area teams not seen at other meets.

“With all this in consideration, the kids competed very well,” said coach Dusty Sprague. “It is good to get out of this area and see some other teams from around the state.”

Holyoke girls placed 11th out of 22 competing teams with 27 points, while boys tied for 16th out of 23 with six.

Girls 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Emily Jelden, Josie Herman, Brook Prottsman and Taeryn Trumper, placed third, the highest placing of any of the Dragons, boy or girl, at the large meet.
