Dusty Sprague honored for selection to NFF silver anniversary team

    Holyoke’s Dusty Sprague was one of the 11 elite members selected by the Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation to celebrate its silver anniversary.
    The 11 honorees were chosen from 290 past recipients of the high school scholar-athlete awards during the past 25 years. They were recognized and presented their silver anniversary team awards at the annual National Football Foundation Colorado banquet at the Denver West Marriott in Golden April 9.
    Sprague, who graduated from HHS in 2003, wrapped up his football career at the University of Colorado-Boulder ninth in both receptions and receiving yards on CU’s all-time lists.
    Others on the silver anniversary team include Jeff Byers (Loveland HS/University of Southern California), Reed Doughty (Roosevelt HS/University of Northern Colorado), Joel Dressen (Fort Morgan HS/Colorado State University), Clay Garcia (Alamosa HS/Colorado School of Mines), Collin Klein (Loveland HS/Kansas State University), Nate Kvamme (Windsor HS/Colorado State University), Christian McCaffrey (Valor Christian HS/Stanford University), Jesse Nading (ThunderRidge HS/Colorado State University), JK Scott (Mullen HS/University of Alabama) and Nate Solder (Buena Vista HS/University of Colorado).
