Eaton wins Class 3A softball championship

Eaton, which beat Holyoke in regional softball, claimed the Class 3A softball championship Oct. 22.
Tournament number one seed Strasburg lost in the quarterfinals and second seeded Brush lost in the first round. Fourth seeded Eaton and third seeded University advanced to the championship game, which Eaton won 9-1.
The win gave Eaton its second state championship in three years. For University, it was its second-straight runner-up finish.
