Football players recognized at Jan. 7 awards program

Members of the 2019 Holyoke High School football team celebrated a hugely successful year at a Jan. 7 dinner and awards program at HHS.

Throughout the season, the Dragons remained undefeated until the semifinal game for an 11-1 record.

Senior Blake Mosenteen was recognized as the team’s player of the year. He was All-State, All-Conference, a four-time letterwinner and Academic All-State.

Other team members on the All-State list were seniors Slaten Burris, Seth Watson, Luis Chafino and Michael Ramos; junior Joey Beckner; and sophomores Aidyn Shafer and Miles Sprague. The eight All-State recipients were also on the All-Conference list along with senior Caleb Deaver and junior Ethan Andersen.

Athletes who have received letters for all four years of high school were Chafino and Mosenteen. Those receiving their third letter were Deaver, Ramos, senior Alexis Vega, Watson, Burris, Andersen and Beckner.
