Girls falls to Wiggins as season nears end

After three straight wins, Wiggins broke the streak for the Holyoke High School volleyball team.

HHS hosted the Friday, Oct. 25, game in which the Lady Dragons lost in four sets: 21-25, 25-23, 16-25 and 24-26.

“They played the best they have all season,” said coach Michelle Vieselmeyer. “I think they have the potential to beat them.”

Vieselmeyer mentioned some comments she’s heard from the community about how much better the young team looks now than it did at the beginning of the season. The coach commended freshman Elise Krogmeier for her work with attacks and blocks as well as freshman Tamara Penzing for her defensive plays as the libero.

“I’m excited for the future,” she said.
