Golf season moves to regionals
After last week’s league golf tourney on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Sterling and the Fort Morgan Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 16, the Holyoke boys golf team headed to regionals at Collindale in Fort Collins on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Competing in regionals, as well as last week’s competition were junior Ty Dirks and seniors Tristen Ferguson, Ethan Johnson and Mason Vernon.
For those who advance from Tuesday’s regionals, the 3A state championship is set for Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 4-5, at Spring Valley Golf Club in Elizabeth.
Coach David Mauler noted that Dirks and Vernon were named to the All-Conference list for the season, and the team finished third in the league for the year.
