Golf season opens at Brush, Yuma

Holyoke boys golf opened the 2021 season last Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Brush Invite and Friday, Aug. 6, at the Yuma Invitational.
Coach David Mauler said the team got the dust off from last year, placing ninth of 14 teams at Brush, then finished third out of 13 teams at Yuma the next day.
In varsity action, HHS scored 310 for its ninth-place finish at Brush. Ty Dirks led the Dragons with 86, tying for 11th overall.
Ethan Johnson and Mason Vernon both carded 112s, while Brendan Nelson shot a 121.
