Golfers improve at Yuma Invite

Dragon golfers improved from the season opener, turning in a 307 at the Yuma Invite Friday, Aug. 14.
Ty Dirks led the team with a 96, tieing for 17th out of 57 golfers. Mason Vernon shot a 105, Ethan Johnson 106 and Tristen Ferguson 110.
As a team, Holyoke placed ninth out of 13. Brush won the outing with a 252, followed by Frontier Academy 259, Sterling 266 and Yuma 269.
Coach Nick Flaa said the local golfers showed some improvements in the short game department. “However, there were still shots out there that we have to eliminate and keep improving on,” he added.
