Grace Dille makes state golf
In the third regional appearance of her golf career, Holyoke High School junior Grace Dille qualified for the 2017 state golf tournament to be held Monday and Tuesday, May 22-23, at Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield. She carded a 105 and tied for 15th place.
Dille was one of four HHS golfers to compete in the 3A region 3 tournament at Highland Meadows Golf Course in Windsor Monday, May 8. As a team, Holyoke placed eighth, with a score of 356.
Holyoke’s team score was made up of Dille’s results, as well as Brenna Sullivan 117 and Dominique Penzing 134. Regan Van Overbeke also represented HHS and golfed in most of the regional tournament. Near the end of her play, the tournament had a 2 hour and 45 minute rain delay, and Van Overbeke, along with 11 other golfers, finally had to withdraw from the competition to meet other commitments.
