Green Babe Ruth takes runner-up

    Holyoke’s Green Babe Ruth team finished the summer ball season runner-up in the June 28-July 1 league tournament in Oshkosh, Nebraska.
    Holyoke Gold Babe Ruth took fourth in the tournament, while Holyoke Green Little League and Holyoke Green PeeWee each placed fifth in their respective divisions.
    Entering the tournament seeded third, the Green Babe Ruth team defeated sixth-seeded Oshkosh 11-10 in the first round game Thursday, June 29.
    Holyoke’s Gold Babe Ruth team, ranked second, had a bye in first round play. In Friday’s Green versus Gold semifinal game, Green won in an upset 16-5 game.
