HHS cheerleaders show spirit at state competition

Holyoke High School was one of seven teams competing in 2A all-girl cheer at the state spirit competition held Thursday, March 25, at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs.

Holyoke placed sixth in the event, and coach Megan Humphreys said the girls competed very well, considering the circumstances.

“We’re going to work hard throughout the summer,” she said, adding that she is really proud of how they competed and is excited for next year.

Humphreys pointed out that they had to change their routine the Monday prior to the competition, but the girls adapted well and were ready.

Humphreys also made a point to acknowledge the school administration, businesses and other community members for their support throughout the year and the send-off they had as they departed for the competition.
