HHS to face Brush in softball regionals at Rocky Ford

For the first time since 2012, the Holyoke High School softball team qualified for postseason play, headed to 3A regional action in Rocky Ford Saturday, Oct. 13.
Playing in the Region 6 tourney, No. 22 Holyoke (who ended the regular season 15-8), will meet No. 11 Brush (13-10) at 10 a.m.
The winner of that game will face No. 6 Rocky Ford (16-6) at 12:15 p.m. The loser of the first game will mark the end of the 2018 season.
Both teams playing at 12:15 will advance to the state tourney Oct. 19-20 in Aurora.
If Rocky Ford loses the 12:15 game, there would be another game featuring the same two teams at 2:30 p.m. to determine the regional winner. If Rocky Ford wins at 12:15, the 2:30 game will not be necessary.
Holyoke’s last postseason softball showing was in 2012, when the Dragons suffered a regional loss to Strasburg.
