HHS football preps for Oct. 21 Yuma contest

On Oct. 14, the Limon Badgers beat the visiting Holyoke football team 60-27. Limon is the only team in the league that remains undefeated. In last weekend’s action, Wiggins beat Burlington 35-7. Wray beat the previously undefeated Yuma team 20-14.

This Friday, Oct. 21, Holyoke will travel to Yuma for a 7 p.m. contest. Limon will play at Wiggins, and Wray will play at Burlington.

Last week in Limon, the Badgers scored first with a 79-yard touchdown run about 3 minutes into the game. The PAT put the home team ahead 7-0, a score that lasted through the quarter. Limon finished the first period on Holyoke’s 2-yard line and finished off the drive at the start of the second. Trailing 14-0 and in possession of the ball, Holyoke quarterback Wyatt Sprague made a nice pass to Reid Sprague to get in the red zone. From there, Wyatt pitched to Tyson Mosenteen on an option, and Mosenteen put the Dragons on the board. Wyatt’s subsequent PAT kick took the score to 14-7.
