HHS girls golf wins Burlington tourney

Last week, the Holyoke High School girls golf team traveled to Burlington and Cheyenne Wells for tournaments. As a team, HHS won the May 1 tournament at Prairie Pines Golf Club in Burlington with a score of 301.
Yuma and Cheyenne Wells tied for second with 307, followed by Burlington 316, Brush 332 and Wray 338.
Holyoke also claimed the individual win last Tuesday, as Grace Dille shot a 94. Brenna Sullivan earned fifth place with a 101, and Regan Van Overbeke finished 10th with a 106. Dominique Penzing carded 115.
“There were many great shots throughout the day but the shot of the day came from Regan Van Overbeke when she holed out from 70 yards on hole No. 9 for birdie,” coach Nick Flaa said. “We have really been stressing our approach game so it was nice to see results coming from what we’ve been working on.”
Competing on the JV team, Holyoke’s Savannah Burris carded 57, followed by Anna Jelden 59, Traeli Hutches 60 and Amy Mackay 64.
