HHS goes 2-2 in weekend tourney

    On Saturday, Sept. 8, Holyoke High School’s varsity volleyball team traveled to Sterling to compete in a tournament at Northeastern Junior College.
    There, the Dragons won against Dayspring Christian Academy and Heritage Christian. Against teams within their own league, however, the Dragons came up short. Both Akron and Merino swept Holyoke 3-0.

    In their Sept. 8 match, Akron beat Holyoke 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-21).
    Kristin Vieselmeyer led the Dragons in kills and blocks. Of her 27 attacks, 11 were kills. She also managed eight blocks — three solos and five assists. She also received 14 serves.
    Ashley Rahe, Emily Jelden and Emma Roll each had an ace. Roll led serve attempts with 15. Taeryn Trumper led the team in digs, with 14. Jelden led in serves received, with 17. She also had 10 digs. Kaylee Camblin racked up 70 sets, resulting in 18 assists for kills.
