HHS has 3 all-state Bball players
Three HHS seniors were recently acknowledged for their outstanding seasons, named to the Colorado 2A all-state basketball teams. Austin Herman and Alex Strauss were named to the first team and Gunnar Kroeger to the second.
Other first team players, all seniors, include Chad Mikelson, Sedgwick County, (also named as Player of the Year); Dagan Rienks, Paonia; and Cole Rouse, Highland.
Sharing second-team honors with Kroeger are seniors Reese Anderson, Highland; Levi Basler, Akron; Michael Nein, Sedgwick County; and junior Carlos Parra, Del Norte.
Area players receiving honorable mention include seniors Jett County, Burlington; Jordan Herder, Akron; and Tre Lewis, Merino.
All-state selections were presented by CHSAANow.com, ColoradoPreps.com and MaxPreps.
Herman plays in ‘The Show’
Herman received an additional honor, playing Saturday, March 25, in the 1A-3A game of “The Show,” the annual Metro State University-hosted all-star basketball games for high school students.
Herman and Mikelson of Sedgwick County were both invited to play from the local area and were placed on opposing teams for the game.
