HHS Lady Dragons ready for volleyball in unusual spring season

Holyoke High School volleyball players are digging right into the season this week with a junior varsity/varsity tri with Merino and Sedgwick County on the home court Saturday, March 27, with games starting at 9 a.m.

As of Tuesday morning, March 23, the gym to be used for Saturday’s tri had not yet been determined since the bleachers in the new gym still needed to be inspected to allow events in that venue.

After the opener, the girls follow that up in quick succession with a JV tri at Akron with Wiggins on Monday, March 29, and a C-team/varsity tri at Akron with Wiggins on Wednesday, March 31. Games are scheduled to start at 4 p.m. for both.

Coach Michelle Vieselmeyer feels excited about the season, and she looks forward to getting back to regionals and to move on from there to state. Ashley Hoffner is returning this year as assistant coach.

As with other sports, things will be a little different this year in volleyball.
