HHS loses to Yuma

Holyoke High School girls basketball took a difficult loss to Yuma in their second game of the week Friday, Jan. 25, falling behind in the second quarter and ending 24-38.
Coach John Baumgartner said the team couldn’t match Yuma’s offense, and brought up the Indians’ high state ranking.
“It’s a tough place to play. They got us in the second quarter, and that pretty much made the difference of the game,” he said. “We just couldn’t turn them over.”
Holyoke will play a second game against Yuma on Thursday, Feb. 14. As of Jan. 28, the Colorado High School Activities Association listed Yuma as having a 9-3 record, including their Holyoke game.
“We’ve got two weeks now to see whether we can improve and get better,” Baumgartner said.
