HHS opens season at Yuma

HHS track is off and running after its season opener at Yuma Saturday, March 25.
“It was a great first meet,” said coach Dusty Sprague. “Perfect weather, no wind — it was a good opportunity to get some good times in.”
Holyoke girls scored 72 points to take fourth out of the 17 competing teams last Saturday. Dragon boys earned nine points to tie for 15th out of 17.
The girls team has some particularly strong freshman members this year, with Taeryn Trumper placing first in long jump, second in the 100 meter dash and third in the 200 meter dash. Trumper, freshmen Emily Jelden and Josie Herman and senior Brook Prottsman placed second in the 800 meter sprint medley as well.
Also placing well was the 4x400 meter relay, taking third with Kaylee Camblin, Herman, Prottsman and Kyra Loutensock.
