HHS volleyball can’t stop Yuma’s momentum

Facing some of their toughest opponents of the season, the Holyoke Dragons succumbed to Yuma in a Sept. 28 away volleyball game. The final score was 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-14). Going into last week’s contest, Yuma boasted an 11-1 record, and it seems there’s little that other teams can do to slow down the formidable squad.
Despite the loss, coach Hannah Petersen was pleased to see her team make positive adjustments throughout the game. There were moments when Holyoke kept pace with Yuma, she added, and they will continue to work on consistency as they move through the season.
In the first set last Friday, HHS put up a fight, but ended up trailing 25-17. With the upper hand, Yuma made even quicker work of the second set, winning 25-14. Another 25-14 win in the third set gave Yuma the match.
