Holyoke High School qualifies for regional baseball
Dragon baseball will be on the road this weekend, traveling to Pueblo to play in round one of the 2A regional/state tournament scheduled May 19-20.
No. 6 Holyoke will play as the home team against No. 11 Rocky Ford Saturday, May 20, on Andenuccio Field at Runyon Complex with the first pitch at 12:30 p.m.
In addition to the Holyoke-Rocky Ford competition, three games will be held in round one of the tournament. Half of the eight teams that make up district 2 have qualified for regionals, meaning four of the 16 regional qualifiers are teams from Holyoke’s district. Having won the district tournament last weekend in a 7-5 game against Haxtun, No. 3 Sedgwick County will face No. 14 Front Range Christian. No. 12 Yuma will face No. 5 Burlington, and No. 7 Haxtun will face No. 10 Lyons.
