Holyoke participating in 2nd Denver Nuggets challenge

    A Sunday, Jan. 13, contest put on by the Denver Nuggets, Holyoke Recreation Department and Colorado Parks and Recreation Association will give local youth the chance to fulfill their hoop dreams and win four Nuggets tickets at a statewide championship event in March.
    Recreation Director Victoria Dunker told Holyoke City Council during its Dec. 18 meeting that Holyoke is one of only a few small towns participating in the program.
    “They do it a lot on the Front Range, but this gives our kids an opportunity to go up there,” she said.
    The event will start at 1 p.m. in the new gym at Holyoke JR/SR High School. Participants will be drilled on dribbling, passing and shooting.
