Holyoke takes 2nd at Goodland swim meet

Members of the Holyoke Swim Club traveled to Goodland, Kansas, June 15, for the third meet of the Northwest Kansas Swim League season.
The host team won with a total of 393 points, followed by Holyoke 359; Burlington 204; Colby, Kansas, 157; Wray 129.5; Oberlin, Kansas, 79.5; and Oakley, Kansas, 69.
On top of a second-place team finish, Holyoke swimmers also broke two pool records individually. Swimming in the 13-14 girls division, Tayla Martin clocked 0:27.66 in the 50-yard freestyle. Keegan Shaw swam a 0:52.23 in the 15-18 boys 100-yard freestyle.
Coach Adria Colver described it as the “meet of out-touches.” Many of the races, across all age levels, had finishes so close it was hard to fathom who had touched the wall first. Such excellent racing really speaks to the overall talent and competition throughout the league.
