JH football opens at Burlington

    Holyoke Junior High football is up and running, preparing for its first game Thursday, Aug. 31, at Burlington. Thirty-one players comprise the 2017 team.

    Eighteen eighth-graders are playing this year, including Gage Sprague, Kaison Kinnie, Carlos Legarreta, Tuff Sigler, Aidyn Shafer, Cade Killin, Miles Sprague, Levi Dille, Kenneth Lindholm, Mason Vernon, Jamie Avila, Tristen Ferguson, Isaac Strauss, Emmanuel Vasquez, Theron Roll, Dakota Pell, Michel Perez and Juan Diaz.
    The 13 seventh-graders on the team are Cooper Goldenstein, J.C. Steggs, Tayden Chappell, Max Kleve, Stephen Murray, Brendan Nelson, Jax Hutches, Isaiah Rahe, Ivan Ponce, Jeffrey Espinoza, Jadon Frost, Junior Rojas and Angel Carrasco.
