JH girls open with Merino, Caliche

    The HJHS girls basketball season opened with two A-team victories when the Dragons traveled to Merino Tuesday, Jan. 9, and hosted Caliche Thursday, Jan. 11.
    While it was a close 26-20 win at Merino, the local girls dominated 45-11 over the visiting Caliche Rams.

    The Dragon A team defeated Merino 26-20 to open their season. Lauren Herman and Kristin Vieselmeyer dominated the Dragon offense, scoring 12 points apiece, while Grace Roberts added two.
