JV, C team boys play Burlington, Yuma

     The 2018-2019 basketball season wrapped up last week for Holyoke High School’s JV and C teams. In Burlington on Feb. 12, Holyoke won the JV game 42-29 and lost the C game 30-26. Hosting Yuma on Feb. 14, Holyoke lost JV 44-15 and won the C game 28-25.

     In JV action at Burlington last Tuesday, Holyoke didn’t waste any time getting things going in a game they’d go on to win 42-29. In the first quarter, HHS gained a 14-5 lead. In the second, it was extended to 23-8.
     Back from halftime for the third quarter, HHS added another 12 and allowed BHS only six. Though Burlington did manage to outscore Holyoke 15-7 in the final quarter, the Dragons kept their lead for a 42-29 win.
     Scoring the most points for Holyoke was Aaron Sierra with 12, followed by Alejandro Rojas eight, Cameron Skager seven, Gage Sprague six, Cade Killin four, Alec Sprague three and Jaime Avila two.
