JV girls basketball wins big in 2 weekend games

    Holyoke junior varsity girls basketball beat Sedgwick County and Wray in its Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18-19, games, continuing a streak of comfortable victories for the team.

    Holyoke kept Sedgwick County at bay for the duration of the three-period game, while growing an already-substantial first quarter lead to 32 points by its end.
    The Dragons shut Sedgwick County out of the first period, establishing a lead of 21 points, which was bolstered by three and 13 points scored in the second and third periods respectively.
    Lauren Herman led the team in total points with 17, followed by Correy Koellner 14, and Taylor Trumper, Kylie Purkeypile and Shianne Willmon two.
