Kids can use self-defense too
Even when children are still quite young, parents and guardians begin teaching them practical tips to stay safe. Don’t talk to strangers. Look both ways before crossing the street. Wear a helmet.
A six-week class that’s new to Holyoke will soon offer those with children another tool to help keep them safe. Ultimate Fighting and Fitness is meant to teach basic self-defense, fitness, self-respect and self-confidence.
Registration for the class is Thursday, Feb. 7, at 5:30 p.m. at Holyoke Fitness Club. The class itself will be taught by John Swiger and will be held Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. from Feb. 21-March 28.
At the heart of Ultimate Fighting and Fitness is respect — for oneself and for others. No one wants their kid to be bullied or to be a bully. This class will address that very real issue.
