Lady Dragons dominate Prairie/Idalia triangular

The fall season is in full swing now, and the Lady Dragon volleyball team had a busy week with two wins at a triangular at Prairie on Thursday, Sept. 16, and a loss to Fleming in its first home game Saturday, Sept. 18.

The triangular was a good confidence builder for the team, said coach Michelle Vieselmeyer.

She said the girls served well, played aggressively, gave a good defensive effort and came together as a team.

Holyoke beat Idalia in three sets: 25-9, 27-25 and 25-15.

Stat leaders included Kristin Vieselmeyer with 35 attacks including 17 kills, Elyce Talavera with 25 serves including two aces and 36 sets including 18 kill assists, Vieselmeyer and Kyleigh Jaeger with four blocks apiece, and Tamara Penzing with 21 digs and 10 serve receives.
