Lady Dragons keep knocking off strokes
The Holyoke girls golf team broke 300 for the first time ever at last week’s Wray Invite.
Head coach Nick Flaa was excited after the team shot 300 at Burlington on April 8 and was even more pleased with its score of 297 on April 11 at Wray Country Club.
Emma Thompson continued to lead the Dragons, finishing tied for first after shooting 48 on her first nine and 44 on her second, giving her a final score of 92.
“She played her last five holes in one over par, which was highlighted by a birdie on the uphill par 4 fifth and a closing par on the par 4 ninth,” Flaa said.
New to the course were Sabryn Burris and Erin Andersen, but the pair managed to get around very well and stayed consistent throughout the day, according to Flaa. Burris placed seventh and Andersen was eighth.
