Lady Dragons put up a fight against Sedgwick County

In their first home match of the season Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Lady Dragon varsity volleyball team took Sedgwick County to four sets but ultimately lost to the Cougars.

The first match went in SedgCo’s favor 25-14. Holyoke stepped it up in the second to close the gap to a two-point game 23-25. The Dragons won the next set by 10 points 25-15. The final game ended with SedgCo on top 25-21.

Coach Michelle Vieselmeyer was pleased with the girls’ performance in the third set, seeing their confidence rise with a win. She thought they were on a roll, but the fourth game slipped away from them.

“If we come across Sedgwick County again later in the season, we know we can beat them,” she said.
