Lady Dragons tab 2 more swim duals

With dual action the norm for this year’s girls swim season, Holyoke chalked up two more experiences last week.

They competed with Liberty Common’s large 32-member team Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Edora Pool and Ice Center in Fort Collins, the site of the 3A state championships in 2019.

On Friday, Feb. 19, they met up with Eaton for a second dual of the season with the Reds.

Holyoke’s sprinters took a 1-2-3 finish, sweeping the 50 freestyle event, praised coach Aly Brinkema.

They went on to win top places in five more events but were unable to overtake Eaton in points without any divers. The Reds took the dual win, 89-81.

“We love competing with Eaton as both teams are very comparable and provide great racing opportunities,” said Brinkema.
