Limon to face Centauri in state championship

No. 1 Limon and No. 2 Centauri will battle for the 1A state football championship Saturday, Nov. 27. Limon defeated No. 5 Wray 42-8 to earn its spot, and Centauri beat No. 3 Buena Vista 42-6.

In 8-man football, No. 1 Haxtun defeated No. 5 Holly 46-26 last week to advance to the championship to face No. 2 Mancos. Mancos beat No. 11 Sanford 26-16 in last week’s semifinal matchup.

No. 1 Cheyenne Wells beat No. 4 Idalia in last week’s 6-man semifinal game 64-24 to advance to the championship game. No. 2 Stratton defeated No. 3 Granada 78-26 to move on to the finals.
