Limon wins state
Colorado high school football seasons in three more divisions wrapped up with state championship games Nov. 30. Northeast Colorado teams were represented in the eight-man, 1A and 2A brackets.
Having bested Holyoke in the semifinals, Limon went on to beat Strasburg in a repeat of the 2018 championship. The 26-13 win marked the 18th state title in Limon’s history.
In eight-man football, Sedgwick County beat Fowler 44-8. for the team’s fifth consecutive state title. No other team has done so in the Colorado eight-man division.
Sterling won its first state championship title in the 2A bracket with a 20-19 victory over Delta.
