Mosenteen 4th at Stratton Invite

Tyson Mosenteen won four out of the five matches he actually wrestled at the Stratton Invite last Saturday, Jan. 29, but had to forfeit the third-place match since it would have been his sixth match of the meet. In the regular season, wrestlers can only compete in a total of five matches at an event.

“When you wrestle all the way from the back side of the bracket, that can happen,” coach Broc Pelle said.

He was still very pleased with Mosenteen’s fourth-place showing in the 145-lb. bracket, pointing out that it was his second week back after having been out due to a shoulder injury, and he’s wrestling really well.

Ben Kleve competed at 152 lbs., winning a match, and Sam Trusty wrestled in the 160-lb. bracket.

“Everybody’s starting to relax and get comfortable,” Pelle said. “They’re improving every time you see them wrestle, and the fundamentals are getting better.”
