Mosenteen earns win

Only two Dragons competed in Holyoke’s two wrestling outings last week, but it was worth it for Tyson Mosenteen who claimed a win at 145 lbs. with a first-period pin over his Wiggins opponent Saturday.

Ivan Ponce was the only other Dragon wrestler competing this past week. He earned two wins by forfeit.

On Thursday, Feb. 11, Holyoke met Burlington and Byers at a tri in Burlington. On Saturday, Feb. 13, Mosenteen and Ponce competed in Ault in duals against Highland, Wiggins and Limon.

Coach Dusty McConnell continues to target the positive development that the young Dragon team is getting. “They’re still learning,” he added.

A quad this Saturday, Feb. 20, at Akron is the only regular-season competition remaining on the HHS schedule, but McConnell said they hope to get something set up for the last weekend of February.

Beyond that, regional wrestling is slated for Friday and Saturday, March 5-6.
