Mouse races to become annual fundraiser

The chips were down and the mice were scampering at the Dragon Booster Club mouse races Friday, July 13, which benefitted Holyoke JR/SR High School athletics.
The first fundraiser of the 2018-19 school year sold 246 tickets, including 22 tables for community organizations.
Dragon Booster Club president Marla Camblin said the club plans to make the races an annual event.
“Overall, we were very happy with the crowd and how it went,” Camblin said. “All of us felt like it was a success that we can plan on doing it each year.”
The night’s auction was called by Mike Michael, who auctioned off 16 mice for more than $10,000. The highest bid of the night was placed by Seaboard Foods on Chuck E. Cheese, who sold for $925.
